Having cut his teeth in the underground metal and punk scenes of Northwestern Pa, Barrett Holcomb formed Jon of Mars out of a collaborative effort after having worked with Berklee Alumni and music producer Jordan Karg. From the pandemonium of the COVID-19 Pandemic Jon of Mars was forged as a musical outlet to vent trapped creativity, as the world had paused and there were no shows for this creative magma to erupt forth upon the world.

Music Career Development

Jon of Mars is born

During the COVID-19 pandemic's lockdown phase I had a lot of free time to create and collaborate with people as shows weren't happening, I was approached by fellow Berklee Alumni Jordan Karg to write a 4 song EP for his final project and final grade... We knocked it out of the park and born from the chaos was Jon of Mars, my solo creative outlet, and my career in Music Production at Berklee College of Music.

First Metal Band

In 2016 I joined up with a few local metal musicians to form the band Neuroticism, a weird fusion of genres and styles nestled into contemporary and old school metal motifs. We're still active to this day, and without the support of these guys I would not be where I am today.

First Live Show

At the age of 14 I started my live performance career as a musician, playing the local scenes from Pittsburgh clear through Erie with various projects and bands as a fledgling punk guitarist with aspirations of playing sold out stadiums.
